'Stranger Things' Nominated For Two Grammys
Filmed in Georgia, the Netflix series uses music to set the tone for the spooky series and place it squarely in the early 1980s.

Television critics have already heaped praise upon "Stranger Things," the Netflix horror series filmed primarily in Georgia. Now, the music world is giving the show some love, too.
"Stranger Things" has been nominated twice for a Grammy in the category of Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media.

Also nominated in the category are "Bridge of Spies," "Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight," "The Revenant" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Set in small-town Indiana in the early '80s, music is a key element used by "Stranger Things" producers to establish place and time as well as trigger audience nostalgia, which has been credited as part of the show's appeal.
While the Grammy nominations are for the show's original score, its soundtrack has included '80s pop hits like "Africa" by Toto, "I Melt With You," by Modern English, "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart and "Waiting For a Girl Like You" by Foreigner.
Season Two filming for the show in Georgia began in November.
The Grammy Awards will take place on February 12.
