Judy Cinesi Honored by College Board

The high school counselor was recently recognized as exemplary Professional School Counselor

The College Board has recognized Mrs. Judy Cinesi, High School Counselor at Pinecrest Academy, as an exemplary Professional School Counselor for the 2019 College Board Counselor Recognition Program. As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Cinesi received a lapel pin and letter of recognition during National School Counseling Week from College Board.

According to the College Board, "It’s an honor to highlight the important work of innovative, results-oriented counselors who are committed to student success and opportunity."

· The counselor must provide direct guidance and counseling services for a caseload of students and families, as well as, be a master’s degree level educator serving as a full-time middle or high school counselor in a public or private/independent school located in the United States.

· Nominated by a community leader, colleague, student, parents/families, or self-nomination

In addition to receiving the lapel pin and letter of recognition, Mrs. Cinesi will also be profiled on the College Board website.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Cinesi and high school faculty, the Class of 2018 earned nearly $6 million in scholarship awards from 35 colleges and universities, with acceptances to 80 colleges and universities across the country. Thirty-two graduates were Zell Miller Scholars and all 69 members of the Class of 2018 were Hope Scholars. Pinecrest’s graduating classes enjoyed a higher than average early decision rate at the University of Georgia in the fall of 2017 and 2018.

Pinecrest Academy is a PreK3-12 private Catholic School in Cumming, Georgia, serving families of all faiths in Forsyth County and surrounding north Atlanta areas. The school is one mile from The Collection at Forsyth and minutes from GA 400.
