Local Teen Releases Music Video

Kate O'Rourke's music video, highlighting real issues teens face, is a prequel to her album release

Kate O’Rourke is taking her God-given singing talent to the next level. The Pinecrest Academy student has completed an EP album, produced by BSE, to be released on Sunday, October 20, at 7pm at The Vinyl at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta. The event is open to all, and children are welcome. Tickets may be purchased HERE or at the door.

O’Rourke’s album of original songs includes a music video, which was released on October 14. The music video can be viewed HERE.

One of the songs on the album, Just Don’t, features vocals by fellow students and alumni, and O’Rourke has dedicated her first album to the Pinecrest Academy Class of 2019.

O’Rourke began singing at age three, and has shared her talent at school, church, and in performing arts settings. Currently in her twelfth year at Pinecrest, O’Rourke has performed the National Anthem at most of the school's sporting events since sixth grade and has performed in theatrical productions since kindergarten. She trained with Erin McGraw, Musical Theater Teacher at Pinecrest, and currently trains with Amy Little of United Music Studios.

Atlanta Braves fans have also had the pleasure of hearing O’Rourke sing. In 2017, she sang the National Anthem at a Braves game and was invited to sing again on July 18, 2019.

“My album release is the most exciting thing that is happening in my life at the moment,” shared Kate O’Rourke. “I started this process in December 2018, and my album is going to be released on October 20, 2019. I always knew I wanted to be a singer, ever since I was three. However, I never imagined that my dream would become a reality. This experience has helped me mature and realize the possibilities in life if you persevere and give one hundred percent in everything you do.”

O'Rourke says the inspiration for her songs are the experiences that she goes through on a daily basis and what she knows other people go through as well. "All of my songs are about REAL things that REAL people go through."

“Working with an emerging young artist like Kate O’Rourke is a thrill for our team! Kate has an incredible natural gift as a vocalist, and she’s always willing to grow, stretch and collaborate,” commented Amy Little of United Music Studios. “From the beginning, she had a clear focus in direction of style, topic, and vibe for her music. Kate’s debut EP is fun, sassy, personal, and powerful. We are so excited for the world to hear her voice and her message,” Little continued.
