Mercy Care Murals Inspire Healing and Hope
Art students install 22 colorful murals at men's recuperative care center
Pinecrest Academy National Art Honor Society (NAHS) students connected with Mercy Missions missionaries during Holy Week to install original hand-painted mini murals at Mercy Care Men’s Recuperative Care.
These students’ paintings were created to help transform the center, which was the old Atlanta jail, into a vibrant space, where men who are recovering experience colorful works of art that express healing and hope.
Pinecrest students collaborated with Holy Spirit Prep students to create these inspiring murals and mini murals to be hung at the Recuperative Care facility. Twenty-two mini paintings were installed by the students on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, over each of the residents' rooms.

Mrs. Stone, Pinecrest Academy High School Art Teacher, and her NAHS students also spent time with the residents, listening to their stories, playing games, singing, and helping them pick out art to transform the entrance to their rooms.
