Olivia Turner Receives Presidential Scholarship to UA

Presidential Scholars receive $100,000 over four years

Olivia Turner, a 2018 graduate of Pinecrest Academy, has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship from The University of Alabama (UA). Mr. Andrew Morrison, Regional Recruiter with UA, attended Pinecrest Academy’s Senior Awards Ceremony on May 3, 2018, to personally present this prestigious award to Turner.

To be eligible for the University of Alabama Presidential Scholarship, a student must have a 33-36 score on the ACT or a 1490-1600 score on the SAT, and at least a 3.5 GPA. Presidential Scholars receive $100,000 over four years ($25,000 per year). Students graduating with remaining scholarship semester(s) may use these monies toward graduate school and/or law school study at UA.

While at Pinecrest Academy, Turner was a member of the National Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society, English Honor Society, and Math Honor Society. She was also a member of the High Service Honor Roll all four years of high school and recipient of the Gold Service Award for two years.

Turner will attend the Honors College at the UA, where she will major in Nursing and minor in Mathematics.
