Pinecrest Academy Alumnus Authors First Book
COVID-19 provided an unusual opportunity for Logan Hamilton when his post-college plans took a detour
Logan Hamilton was inspired to write a book after COVID-19 changed his graduation and post-college career plans. Hamilton, 24, a 2015 graduate of Pinecrest Academy, graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2020, right as COVID-19 began, so he did not get to walk across the stage to receive his hard-earned diploma. Like many other college graduates of last year, he received his diploma in the mail.
Following his return home to start a career and begin the next chapter in his life, Hamilton found it increasingly difficult to find a job amidst pandemic woes, a shelter-in-place order, and the uncertainty of industry survival in many fields. At the same time, Hamilton began questioning what he really wanted to do with his life.
After many interviews and a lot of soul-searching, Hamilton decided that he needed to be the change he wanted to see in his life, understanding that nothing happens for you, and that there are no free rides.

He spent two weeks studying to obtain his Property & Casualty Insurance License. He passed the test with flying colors, but knew he still needed to do more to be more. He began researching new ideas and pondering ways he could get ahead, establish a career, and make money, while also making a positive difference in his own life and in the lives of others.
"One day, a lightbulb just went off in my head," says Hamilton. "I realized I had extensive knowledge about the mind, how it works, and how to use the mind as one's greatest asset for growth and success." Over the years, Hamilton had read a plethora of books on this topic. After the lightbulb moment, he became inspired to write a book about all he'd learned about the mind, enriched by his own perspective and personal experiences.

As Hamilton embarked on this project, his hope, from the start, was to give readers a fresh point of view and to present relevant information profound enough to inspire positive change. "I thought, just maybe I could be that light for others, helping them realize what they can achieve with the right mindset," said Hamilton. "Everything in our lives is controlled by how we think and the realization that we are more in control of the outcomes in our lives than we think we are."
After six-plus months of writing, revising, editing, and conducting lots of research, Hamilton’s book, The Winning Mindset was born. It is available on Amazon, iTunes, Kindle, Barnes & Noble, and other platforms, in paperback or e-book.
Says Hamilton, "I don’t care as much about making money as I care about people seeing a new way to live and gaining a profound perspective, helping them grow exponentially, as I have. We all have a long way to go in life no matter our age. So why not be a little better today?"
Hamilton feels that he is now putting forth his best self by the way he thinks, by the way he sees the world, and most importantly, by the way the world sees him. "It is all in our minds," he says.
After penning The Winning Mindset and heeding his own advice, Hamilton landed a job at a renowned insurance company in Buckhead, Georgia and signed an exclusive contract with a fitness modeling agency in Atlanta.
“You might be surprised by what you find in The Winning Mindset and what you can discover about your own mind,” explains Hamilton. “A winning mindset has helped write my life's story thus far, and it doesn't stop here! What will you make of your own story?”
