Pinecrest Academy is pleased to announce that their 68-acre campus in South Forsyth County will be open for in-person instruction on August 6, 2020. The private Catholic school's 22-member COVID-19 Task Force, which includes a member of the National Coronavirus Recovery Commission, has worked to craft a plan which follows CDC guidelines, and local and State regulations. This plan considers data pertaining to children, specifically, the downward trend in the number of cases and hospitalizations from COVID-19, and the fact that children are not likely spreading the virus. The Task Force is also examining data specific to the geographic area, as it relates to COVID-19.

Safety protocol is being implemented to protect students, faculty, staff, and families. In most cases, desks can be spaced 6-feet apart, frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizers will be expected, and the use of masks may be recommended in certain situations. Safety protocol is in place, should a case of COVID-19 be diagnosed. The Pinecrest Task Force will continue to monitor the fluid COVID-19 data and the Governor’s directives to ensure the best plans are in place for students' return to campus for the 2020-2021 school year.
