Pinecrest Athlete Named 2015 Female Academic Player of the Year

A Pinecrest Academy athlete has been named “Female Academic Player of the Year” by the North fulton Forsyth Tip-Off Club.

Wendy Oshinski, a senior at the school, serves as the captain of the Pinecrest Varsity Girls Basketball team and has averaged seven points per game.

“Wendy is one of the hardest working defensive players on the floor and has a tendency to hit big shots in big moments. Her determination is her strength, and every day she pushes to be better than the day before,” says Pinecrest Head Coach, Ken Lacey.

Oshinski not only excels on the court, but her grades are equally impressive. She has a 4.1 weighted grade point average, scored a 33 on her ACT and is ranked ninth in her class. Oshinski is also a member of four honor societies.

Oshinski was one of eight athletes who were honored at a banquet held at Lanier Tech Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming on March 9.
