Pinecrest Athletics Welcomes New Head Baseball Coach

Pinecrest Academy is pleased to welcome Coach Jon Brewer to the Paladins family as the private Catholic school’s new Head Varsity Baseball Coach. Brewer replaces Coach Heath Kennedy, who led the Baseball Paladins to the GHSA State Playoffs in 2019 and helped four players advance their baseball careers in college.

Brewer comes to Pinecrest Academy after serving as Head Baseball Coach for four seasons at Chestatee High School in Gainesville, GA. He enjoys six years’ experience as a varsity head coach and has been very successful. He led his teams to the State Playoffs five out of his six years as a head coach.

In 2016, Brewer led Rockdale County High School to its first Region Championship in school history and was named Region Coach of the Year. In 2017 and 2018, he led Chestatee to its only playoff appearances in school history in one of the toughest regions in the State of Georgia. Under Brewer's leadership, Chestatee set numerous school records offensively, defensively, and in stolen bases.

In 2017, Chestatee's baseball field was named "Field of the Year" by the Georgia Dugout Club. Brewer was a 2020 guest speaker at the Georgia Dugout Club Clinic, where he presented his "new age" style of base running. Brewer has also helped over 20 players advance their careers to play baseball collegiately or professionally.

Brewer and his wife, Nina, have been married for two years, and they have one child, Kaiden (1).
