Pinecrest Fourth Graders Enjoy Visit from Wild Bird Refuge

Students Experience Up Close Encounter with Owl, Hawk and Bald Eagle

Pinecrest Academy fourth graders received a hands-on lesson about wild birds on Tuesday, April 19, thanks to a special visit from Mr. Pete Griffin from The Charlie Elliot Center Life and Wild Bird Refuge in Covington, Georgia.

The children had the unique opportunity to experience up close encounters with a Screech Owl, a Great Horned Owl, a Red Tail Hawk and a Bald Eagle. The students learned facts about each bird and how everyone can help keep these birds safe and healthy in the wild.

Pinecrest Academy is a private PreK3-12th grade Catholic School located in Cumming, Georgia.
