Pinecrest Recognizes Commended Students in National Merit Program

Two seniors were among 34,000 Commended Students recognized for exceptional academic promise

High School Principal, Mrs. Beth Howard, of Pinecrest Academy, a PreK-12 private Catholic school, has announced that Sophia R. DiMarco and John M. Rezabek have been named Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from Mrs. Howard and from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), have been presented to these scholastically talented seniors.

DiMarco and Rezabek are among about 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation who are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2021 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, DiMarco and Rezabek placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
