Pinecrest’s Mathis Named Atlanta Falcons Coach of the Week

The honor recognizes how Mathis is making a difference in the lives of student-athletes both on and off the field.

Pinecrest Academy’s Coach Terance Mathis has been selected as Atlanta Falcons High School Coach of the Week. He was selected because of his hard work and dedication to making a difference in the lives of student-athletes both on and off the field.

As part of being selected as Coach of the Week, Mathis will be recognized at the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Atlanta Falcons home game on Sunday, December 22. As an honoree, Mathis will also receive a $1,000 equipment grant for the Paladins Football program.

Mathis is a former NFL receiver that spent eight of his 13 total professional seasons playing for the Atlanta Falcons. He made the Pro Bowl his first season in Atlanta after catching a then single-season record 111 passes, becoming just the eighth player in NFL history at the time to catch more than 100 passes in a season.
