Pinecrest Academy presents The Writer’s Workshop, a summer camp designed for rising 9th through 12th grade high school students. This week-long camp, July 14-18, 9am-noon, introduces students to the goals of high school composition. Campers will hone their skills in a variety of essay genres –narrative, expository, and persuasive – by learning to initiate, plan, develop, organize, and revise and edit their writing.
The course also focuses on writing fundamentals that support student performance on the PSAT and ACT tests: improving sentences and paragraphs, and identifying common spelling and usage errors. The pace allows for students to grow in talent and confidence!
The instructor is Pinecrest Academy high school teacher, Elizabeth Hetzel, and cost is $125 per student. The camp is open to all area high school students.
