Runaway Rescued From Sex Trafficking Ring: Police

A Cumming man is in jail after deputies find runaway teen, 16, trapped in a child sex trafficking ring: Forsyth County police.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — A Cumming man is behind bars after his arrest Saturday in a child sex traffcking case, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Deputies apprehended Matthew Humphries, 31, after receiving a tip regarding a 16-year-old runaway girl.

Humphries has been charged with trafficking in sexual servitude, interference with child custody and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the sheriff's office said. He's being held at the Forsyth County Jail.

On Saturday, deputies found the 16-year-old, a runaway from DeKalb County, when they responded to a call at a location in northeast Forsyth County.

They called detectives to the scene, who determined that the teen "was involved in prostitution and sex crimes and was being victimized," the sheriff's office said.

The police have declined to release the teen's name because she's a juvenile. She was turned over to the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, which is offering assistance to the family and the teen.
