Safety Concerns Close West Bank Park At Lake Lanier
The park will remain closed while saturated ground conditions delay efforts to resolve the safety concerns.

CUMMING, GA – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District has temporarily closed the West Bank Park at Lake Lanier as of Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, due to safety hazards. The park will remain closed while saturated ground conditions delay efforts to resolve the safety concerns.
“Fluctuations in the lake level over the past year have created certain unsafe conditions,” said Timothy Rainey, operations project manager for the Lake Lanier Project Office. “We must wait until conditions are conducive to make the repairs, and we do not have an estimated time frame for when that will occur.”
When conditions have cleared, allowing for a satisfactory safety survey and cleanup, the Corps will
announce the re-opening of West Bank Park.
