CUMMING, GA — Do you care about the future of Forsyth County's parks and recreation facilities?
If so, you'll soon have a chance to see the county's plans for them for the next 10 years.
Forsyth County Parks & Recreation has completed the final stages of updating its Comprehensive Master Plan, which serves as the blueprint for the future of the county's parks system.

It will be used to guide budget decisions and park-system projects for the next decade.
A consulting firm has been working with Forsyth government over the past nine months, gathering information, collecting data and talking to citizens in order to compile the comprehensive plan.

The plan will be presented to Forsyth's Parks & Recreation Board and the county commission's Parks & Recreation committee during a joint meeting on Wednesday, October 5.
It will be held at 7 p.m., in Suite 220 of the Forsyth County Administration Building, at 110 E. Main St. in Cumming.
The presentation will include results from the community-needs assessment survey, along with information gathered at stakeholder meetings, focus groups and public meetings.
A final plan is slated to be presented to the full county commission on October 25.
The plan will guide the county’s park system through 2026.
