Seven Pinecrest Students Invited to UGA Honors Band Festival

Students to Work with Some of Finest Conductors in World

Seven Pinecrest Academy high school band students have been invited to participate in "Janfest," the University of Georgia's Honors Band Festival, which takes place January 19-22, 2017.

The students selected for this honor include:
Charles Insalaca, clarinet (10th)
Matthew Irlbeck, trumpet (11th)
Julianna Jennings, flute (10th)
Samhita Mallavarapu, oboe (11th)
Alex Pausa, trumpet (11th)
Patrick Phelan, clarinet (10th)
Claire Tran, Trombone (9th)

These students will have the opportunity to work with some of the finest conductors in the world, attend concerts of UGA ensembles and guest artists, participate in master classes with UGA faculty, and even have the opportunity to audition early for band scholarships.

Acceptance into this festival is very competitive, and it is an honor to be selected.
