Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Metro Atlanta
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for much of metro Atlanta on Thursday, with the National Weather Service expecting wind and hail.
GEORGIA — Much of metro Atlanta can expect strong wind, possible hail, thunderstorms and maybe even isolated tornadoes Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Thursday until 10 p.m. Additionally, a hazardous weather outlook has also been issued for portions of north and central Georgia.
Scattered severe thunderstorms remain possible across the area this afternoon and into tonight. The primary hazards with any severe storms that occurs will be damaging winds and large hail.

"Thunderstorms redeveloping across the area this afternoon and into tonight with the potential for damaging winds and large hail. The possibility of a brief, isolated tornado cannot be ruled out," the National Weather Service said on Facebook.
Frequent lightning and heavy rainfall are also possible with stronger storms, NWS said. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms can be expected Friday through Wednesday, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours.
