State Route 400 Will Open All Lanes To Traffic Wednesday

Widening of State Route 400 has added an additional lane in each direction on State Route 400 between McFarland Parkway to State Route 369.

CUMMING, GA – Drivers along State Route 400 will be excited to hear that the final section on State Route 400 Southbound between State Route 369 (Browns Bridge Road) and State Route 141 (Peachtree Parkway) will open to traffic Wednesday, July 11 at 5 a.m.

The widening of State Route 400 has added an additional lane in each direction on State Route 400 between McFarland Parkway to State Route 369, along with widening the bridges over Big Creek and Lake Lanier.
C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. began work in April 2015 with the most recent win for southbound traffic last December, between State Route 141 and McFarland Parkway. Starting Wednesday, the entire widened corridor will be open for drivers to use.

The project was made possible through a partnership between Forsyth County and the Georgia Department of Transportation. Georgia DOT contributed $13 million to this work and the remainder of the project funding – approximately $57.6 million – came from the Forsyth County Transportation Bond.
