Students Host Fundraiser for Wounded Warrior Project
"Volleytage" Tournament Raises More Thank $1,000 for Wounded Veterans
Pinecrest Academy high school students hosted the Third Annual Volleytage Tournament on Saturday evening, March 11, 2017. One of the school's "Ignite" service teams, planned and coordinated the student event, and raised over $1,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project through this activity.
This student-driven evening of crazy volleyball games, filled with sabotages of bubble wrapped hands, football helmets and more, is a fun social event for Pinecrest high school students and provides a way to offer support to charitable causes at the same time.
The Ignite team held a 50/50 raffle to help raise funds, with half of the winnings going to the student, and half going to the Wounded Warrior Project. Pinecrest junior Bridget Cress won the raffle and chose to donate the money back to the Wounded Warrior Project.
