Trees, Power Lines Down In Forsyth County Following Zeta
Remnants of Hurricane Zeta resulted in widespread damage and power outages throughout north Georgia — including in Forsyth County.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Remnants of Hurricane Zeta resulted in widespread damage and power outages throughout north Georgia — including in Forsyth County.
Many roadways throughout Forsyth County remain blocked by fallen trees as of Thursday morning. Several major intersections were also without power, county officials said.
"We have added 40 extra deputies to the roads but still cannot be at every intersection. Folks if you can, stay home. If you have to go out, please use extra caution," county officials warned Thursday via social media. "If you encounter an intersection where a traffic signal is not functioning, treat it as a four-way stop."

Following Hurricane Zeta, county officials said they placed nine teams of chainsaw-cutting deputies out in the field to respond to the largest roadways and work their way down the list.

According to the National Weather Service, for Friday, residents in Forsyth County can expect sunny skies with a high near 66 degrees, northwest wind around 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.
For Saturday, residents can expects sunny skies with a high near 65 degrees. For Sunday, the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high near 69 degrees.
