CUMMING, GA — Lent has begun with Ash Wednesday being held on March 6 this year. So it's time to start marking calendars for the fish fries sure to be held across Cumming during the Lenten season.

If your church or group is operating one this year, please fill out this form with the details. We'll compile the list of frys we get and make sure that information is available to our readers throughout the season.
An Associated Press article published in USA Today called the meal "a timeworn Catholic tradition that provides a safe haven from divides that have long roiled the U.S. church, a place where traditionalist Catholics, progressive Catholics and everyone in between can sit peacefully at the same plastic tablecloth."

Many churches and restaurants are serving up delicious meatless Friday dinners including fish and pasta. For kids there's mac and cheese, pizza and grilled cheese.
So go out and support your favorite parish or visit them all. There are six Fridays in Lent.
