Dacula Commuters Have Months of Roadwork Ahead

Work at Dacula Road and Old Peachtree Road expected to continue through June 2012.

Roadwork is currently underway to realign the intersection of Dacula Road and Old Peachtree Road to improve visibility and traffic flow. According to the Gwinnett Department of Transportation, the project will require intermittent lane closures and traffic shifts through June 2012.

Though closures are expected to take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., traffic delays have been experienced outside those hours during the past week.

The project is one of two Dacula-area projects approved last October. The other project, near , involves the installation of nearly a half-mile of curb, gutter and sidewalks. The total cost for the two projects is $566,411. Both projects are being funded through SPLOST.
