Dacula Student Selected As U.S. Senate Youth Rep
Chris Larkins is vying to become one of two from Georgia who will attend the annual United States Senate Youth Program in Washington, D.C.

A Dacula High School student has been selected as a 2015-2016 United States Senate Youth representative.
Chris Larkins is vying to become one of two student leaders from Georgia who will attend the annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) in Washington, DC, from March 5-12, 2016.
Two student leaders from each state will spend a week in the nation’s capital experiencing their national government in action. Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as participate in a meeting with a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

All transportation, hotel, and meal expenses will be provided by The Hearst Foundations.
In addition, each delegate will be awarded a $5,000 College Scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science. The committee selected Larkins from a group of outstanding applicants.
