Driver At First Claims Marijuana is 'Weight Gainer'
The driver's behavior, described as overly nervous, had prompted a search of the car.

A North Carolina man who was stopped in the Hamilton Mill area for speeding Aug. 4 attempted to pass off marijuana as "weight gainer" when a Gwinnett police officer asked about the substance.Â
According to the incident report, the office immediately smelled a faint odor of marijuana upon approaching the vehicle. The driver's behavior, described as overly nervous despite being given a warning citation for speeding, prompted a search of the car.Â
Taku O. Vanputten of 4 Gateview Court in Durham, N.C., was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and speeding. The marijuana was found inside a cup in the center console of the vehicle.Â
