GCPS Online Campus Information Session to Be Held at MCHS

Gwinnett County Public Schools will host an informational session regarding the system's online school on Jan. 12 at .

Gwinnett Online Campus, which has been available for summer school and 7th period classes for the past 11 years, began offering classes full-time in August 2011. Students are offered the same classes that are taught at traditional high schools and are required to participate in class discussions, turn in homework and meet deadlines. To attend, students must have a computer and reliable Internet access.

Meetings for parents and students interested in attended the middle school level online campus will be held from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. High school level information will be presented from 7:30 - 8:15 p.m.

Gwinnett Online Campus currently serves approximately 160 students in grades 9–12. The Online Campus will extend its offerings to middle school grades beginning in the fall of 2012 and will offer fourth and fifth grade courses beginning in the fall of 2013.

Registration for the 2012 school year will be held Feb. 1-29, 2012. Current fifth through 11th graders are eligible to enroll.
