GA Gas Gauge: Demand Up, So Are Prices

Find where the lowest prices are in Dacula with our interactive gas tool and map.

Gas prices inched up another penny per gallon in Georgia last week, as increased demand and seasonal refinery costs applied upward pressure at the pump.

The average price per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.16 as of Sunday, according to AAA in its weekly gas price briefing. That’s still 5 cents lower than the average a month ago, and more than a dollar lower than last year ($3.20).

“Gas prices could remain volatile as refinery maintenance season continues, which leaves supplies tightened while gasoline demand remains high,” AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins said in the briefing. “The good news for motorists is that prices are still forecast to slip back toward $2 a gallon by the end of the year.”
