July 4 Weekend Weather: Will Storms Ruin Fireworks?

In metro Atlanta, there's a chance you'll be able to get your grilling and fireworks shows in — but you may have to dodge some rain clouds.

ATLANTA, GA — Whether you're reveling or traveling on July 4th weekend, you might need to pack an umbrella in the metro Atlanta area.

There's a chance of rain and thunderstorms every day between now and Independence Day, which falls on Tuesday. If there's any good news, it's that the highest chance for storms is on Friday (unless, of course, you're planning on traveling out of town Friday, in which case ... good luck).

After an 80 percent chance of rain on Friday, the percentage will drop down to the 30-40 percent range for the next few days. So, fingers crossed, you may be able to get in your grilling and fireworks viewing despite the weather.
