Gwinnett Early Voting Sets First-Week Record

More Gwinnett voters cast ballots in the first week of early voting than were cast in all three weeks of early voting in 2016.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The first week of early voting in Gwinnett County set a record, with more ballots cast in the first seven days than in all three weeks of advance voting in 2016.

More than 70,000 Gwinnett residents voted between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18. Only 58,708 advance ballots were cast in person in Gwinnett County during 2016, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The busiest day of the week in Gwinnett County was Friday, when 12,732 ballots were cast. Thursday and Saturday were a close second and third.

The most active advance-voting location in Gwinnett was the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville, where nearly 12,000 ballots were cast. George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center in Suwanee and Bogan Park Community Recreation Center in Buford were in second and third places, both with more than 9,000 ballots cast.

Early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election runs through Oct. 30, every day including weekends, at these nine locations. Gwinnett County residents can vote at any of these locations during early voting, regardless of what your assigned precinct would be on Nov. 3.
