Super Bowl Ticket Scam: Lawrenceville Man Behind Bars

A Lawrenceville man is facing charges in a $750,000 Super Bowl ticket scam, say Gwinnett police.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Lawrenceville man has been arrested in California on charges that he scammed at least six people in metro Atlanta out of thousands of dollars by selling them fake Super Bowl tickets, according to a media report. The Gwinnett County police said Wednesday that several people reported to them that Ketan Shah, 48, had offered to sell them Super Bowl tickets, but then skipped town.

Shah took more than $750,000 from would-be buyers, who never received the tickets he claimed to be selling, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The police said that one victim paid Shah $500,000 to host a Super Bowl party “at an arena.” Another victim told Channel 2 he paid $50,000 for two tickets on the 50-yard line of Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Sunday's football game.
