DALLAS, GA — South Paulding High School graduate Caleb Lee Hutchinson made it to the top 24 on "American Idol" with his touching performance of "I was wrong," by Chris Stapleton.

Hutchinson, from Dallas, sang the bluegrass band the Steeldrivers' "If It Hadn't Been For Love," impressing the judges so much, they punched his ticket to Hollywood on March 18.

On his Facebook page, 'Hutch' thank everyone in Paulding County for all their love and support.

"I couldn't do this without y'all! Please like and share with your friends so they can be part of the #hutchbunch and become a #hutchpuppy."

Hutch let his fans know, he wouldn't be on American Idol this week, but "I will be on NEXT WEEK (15/16)! They’re splitting the 24 of us into two groups where half of us will be shown this week and the other half will be shown next week! Definitely tune in both weeks though, because you’re going to see some awesome solos and some even better celebrity duets!"

American Idol 2018 continued its journey, closing out Hollywood Week with the solo round before sending the remaining contestants on to the Showcase, their first chance to perform in front of a full audience. From there, the 50 remaining contestants sat down, one-by-one, with judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan for their Final Judgment.

It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster as several fan favorites were sent home and others made it through to the next round. Heading into the Top 24 solos next Sunday will be another level of challenge, followed by All-Star Duets on Monday with artists like Bebe Rexha, Luis Fonsi, Lea Michele, Sugarland, and Aloe Blacc.
