American Idol Star, Caleb Hutchinson, Performs At State Capitol

Video: Paulding County's own "American Idol" star, Caleb Hutchinson, was honored and performed at the State Capitol last week.

ATLANTA, GA — Paulding County's own "American Idol" star, Caleb Hutchinson, visited the Georgia House of Representatives last week and sang them a tune. The Paulding delegation welcomed him with open arms, including: Representatives Kim Alexander, Micah Gravley, Joseph Gullett and Martin Momtahan.

Momthan, who introduced Hutchinson, said, "Caleb started his music career early, when he won his first competitive talent show in seventh grade, and he hasn't slowed down since. In addition to "American Idol," he has appeared on the television show, "The Voice," and has opened for singers like Bo Bice, Gene Watson and Jimmy Fortune.

"After the entire country heard him sing songs like, "Don't close your eyes," "Meant to be," and "Getting you home," with his signature baritone voice, I have no don't that he will have continued success in his music career," Momathan said.

After making it through to the final three contestants last season on American Idol, the City of Dallas welcomed "Hutch" home with a parade.

While at the capitol, Hutchinson performed a song he said he wrote himself, called "work horse."
