Arrest in Shooting Threat Against Paulding High: 1 Year Ago in Dallas-Hiram

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested a student for threatening a shooting incident Monday at Paulding County High School.
The office said on Facebook the boy is a student at PCHS. He threatened someone was going to “bring a gun to school [on Monday] and shoot people,” according to the post.

The boy has been charged with terroristic threats, disruption of a public school and unruly juvenile.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and there will be an increased law enforcement presence at the school Monday (Sept. 24, 2014).

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the legitimacy of a threat made against Paulding County High School.
The office said on Facebook a student reportedly threatened to “bring a gun to school and shoot people.”
Details of the threat were not released.
The sheriff’s office further stated:
“In response to details provided regarding the threat, Sheriff’s Office investigators are actively investigating to determine if the threat is credible.
“It is possible this information is unreliable, however, the Sheriff’s Office and School District must pursue the investigation to ensure the safety of its students and staff.
“At this time [posted around 5 p.m., Sunday], tomorrow’s classes at Paulding County High School will be conducted as scheduled. The District will have a heightened law enforcement presence on the campus.”
