Dallas Housing Authority Could Sell Ridgeview

The sale would make way for senior housing.

A Dallas public housing facility may be sold to build 75 new senior living units.

The Dallas Housing Authority has requested proposals for the sale of the Ridgeview Complex at 700 Villa Rica Hwy., according to the Paulding Neighbor.

To be able to sell Ridgeview, the Authority needs permission from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. If all goes well, the Authority hopes to use the funds to build the senior living units, according to the Neighbor.

The majority of the 150 people on the Authority's waiting list for housing are either senior citizens or disabled, according to the Neighbor.
