Georgia Weather Forecast: More Thunderstorms Possible This Weekend

Read when you might actually get a few hours of sunlight this weekend in metro Atlanta — and when you'd better plan to be inside.

ATLANTA, GA — It wouldn't really be a June weather forecast for metro Atlanta without a chance of thunderstorms, now would it? Well, fret not — this weekend will do its part in keeping with the norm.

It's not a sure thing for everybody, but there will be at least a chance of thunderstorms every day this weekend.

You're most likely to get in a few hours of sunlight Saturday morning. The chance of storms doesn't really kick in on Saturday until 2 p.m. But, on Sunday, the National Weather Service says to start looking for thunderstorms as early as 8 a.m.

Alas, all that rain won't make things any cooler. The high temperature is forecast to be 87 degrees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Areas of fog between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Saturday night, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.
