House Democrats Demand "Immediate Action" To Rein In Rep. Greene
Democrats say Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is making it "unsafe" to work in the U.S. House. Greene responded by calling them "communists."

GEORGIA — Thirty-seven Democratic U.S. representatives signed a letter to House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy Thursday demanding he take “immediate action” to rein in what they say is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s toxic behavior.
“We are extremely concerned that (Greene’s) conduct is creating an unsafe work environment for members, and that her actions could lead to violence against members of Congress,” the letter reads.
Signed by Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Joaquin Castro, Ilhan Omar and others, the letter urged McCarthy “in the strongest terms to take immediate action to address Rep. Greene’s behavior.” According to Forbes, most of the signees were women and people of color. The letter's existence was first reported by CNN.

The petition follows multiple confrontations between Greene and other House members, culminated by Greene calling Ocasio-Cortez “the little communist from New York City” at a rally with former President Donald Trump last month in Ohio.
When the crowd booed at the mention of Ocasio-Cortez’s name, Greene egged on their chants of “lock her up,” according to multiple media reports.

“She’s not an American,” Greene told the crowd. “She doesn’t embrace our American ways.”
Before entering Congress, Greene repeatedly expressed support on social media for assassinating prominent Democrats, according to CNN. After Greene arrived in Washington, she continued to troll Democrats, at one point posting an anti-transgender sign outside her office, straight across the hall from a representative with a transgender child. Greene also has challenged Ocasio-Cortez to debate her, at one point confronting her outside the House chamber to demand that she defend her “radical socialist” beliefs.
"Everyone has a right to a workplace free from harassment and abuse, including members of Congress,” the representatives wrote. “We urge you in the strongest terms to take immediate action to address Rep. Greene’s behavior.”
Greene responded via social media by calling all the signees liars and “Communists.”
Characterizing the letter as a “witch hunt,” Greene wrote that “it’s absurd Democrats accuse me of creating an environment of harassment for speaking at a Trump rally and defining them as who they are: Communists.”
As of Thursday afternoon, McCarthy had not yet publicly responded to the Democratic representatives' letter. Because Greene has already been stripped of her committee assignments, it's not clear what more McCarthy can do to her.
