How Long Does It Take to Eat 2-Pound Steak? About 7 Minutes

Paulding County deputy gobbles up the competition at charity eating contest held at Texas Roadhouse in Hiram.

If there ever as a professional league for speed-eating 2-pound steaks, Paulding County deputy Charlie Adams might be the top overall draft pick.

Deputy Adams won the annual charity steak-eating challenge at the Hiram Texas Roadhouse Tuesday night, gobbling down a meal consisting of a 32-ounce sirloin, loaded baked potato, green beans and a roll faster than anybody else.

It was the third straight year the deputy won the challenge, and he did it in record time, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

The annual challenge included eaters from the PCSO, Georgia Army National Guard, and community. Anyone finishing the meal earned $50 for a local charity.

By winning as a team, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of its proceeds from Tuesday night to sheriff’s charity choice — Cops for Kids.
