James Austin Martin, 74, of Villa Rica

Mr. James Austin Martin, age 74 of Villa Rica, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Mr. Martin was born in Ellijay, Georgia on Tuesday, May 23, 1939. He was the son of the late Austin Martin and the late Louise (Mundy) Martin. Beside his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Doris Leonard (Mauldin); His daughter, Mary Jane Hicks; and two brothers, Thomas Martin and Bobby Martin.

Survivors include his two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Tracy Patterson of Villa Rica and Penny Hopkins of Temple; Two sisters and two brother-in-laws, Mary Ellen and Buddy Haynes of Dallas and Ruth Ann and Marvin Walters of Powder Springs; Seven grandchildren, Austin Manning of Villa Rica, Jesse Eason of Villa Rica, Josh Hicks of Villa Rica, JJ and Kelly Hopkins of Dallas, Casey Patterson of Buchanan, Jay Patterson of Buchanan, and Laci Daniel of Ranburne, Alabama; Three great-grandchildren, Noah James Hopkins of Dallas, Lane Daniel and Lilly Benfield both of Ranburne, Alabama and number of other relatives.
