Local Woman, 25, Dies in Michigan Car Accident

Kala Partello died in a single-car wreck on I-75 in Bay County, Mich. Memorial services are scheduled at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram.

A local woman was killed in a single-car crash in Michigan last weekend, according to news reports.

Kala Partello, 25, of Douglasville, may have fallen asleep at the wheel before losing control around 6:55 a.m. Saturday, July 11 on Interstate-75 in Bay County, the Michigan State Police said, according to WNEM-TV in Saginaw, Mich.

She was ejected from the car, which rolled several times, and she died at the scene. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol.

Kala Marie Partello is a 2008 graduate of Douglas County High School, according to her obituary by Clark Funeral Home, which is charge of the arrangements. She was born Dec. 12, 1989 and moved to Douglas County in 1991.

Family will receive visitors, family, and friends for a celebration of her life at Clark Funeral Home, 4373 Atlanta Hwy., Hiram, on Friday July 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family will then return to Michigan where services will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, 611 S. Bennett Street, Rose City, Mich. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. with burial at the Rose City Cemetery.
