New Hospital at Halfway Point

Construction of the WellStar Paulding Hospital has hit a mid-point.

Concrete for the Emergency Department has been poured, and interior walls are going up. Curtain wall installation, including the glass panels that will be a main focal point in the hospital’s atrium, is beginning.

Set for opening in April 2014, the not-for-profit hospital will have 295,000 square feet on eight floors, along with a 120,000-square-foot precast parking deck and four-story, 82,220-square-foot medical office building.

Inside the hospital will be 40 emergency exam rooms, four surgical suites, decentralized nursing sta-tions, patient rooms, administrative offices, and a café.
