New Vision Martial Arts Opens In Dallas
New Vision Martial Arts opened its doors in Dallas January 3 and promises a different type of training.
DALLAS, GA — New Vision Martial Arts opened its doors in Dallas January 3 and promises a different type of training, with character development as an integral part of their martial arts training.
"We want to teach martial arts in such a way that Adults and Kids feel like they are a part of a community," said chief instructor and owner, Tey Koval. "For adults, it's getting out there and sweating and working off stress from the day or work. For the kids, it's to move around and get all the excess energy out in a constructive and fun way. For the teens, it's to create friendships and to be a very positive environment.
"We have everything explained on our website about each one of these classes and programs," he continued. "The biggest difference is we do not try to sell on the aspect of character development, we try to explain that Character Development is not an added benefit, but it is integral part of martial arts. The kids and teens will learn to be more focused and more respectful, learn self-discipline, and leadership. However, we feel if we just sell on this, it makes us feel like we try to sell a car and say that it comes with tires. Its just silly."

Tey Koval is a 3rd degree black belt in Tae-Kwan-Do. He has been practicing Martial Arts since he was 6 years old. Officially since he was 5, however he tries not talk about it since he was kicked out of his first school for head butting the hanging bags.
Koval has been teaching Martial Arts for over 12 years and have worked with kids for 15 years. His love for teaching has always been present and he always states that he wanted to be a History teacher, however due to several happy circumstances he ended up teaching Martial Arts and realized he enjoyed watching others improve and become better than himself. He constantly looks for new ways to teach, be it physical, mental, or beneficial to the student’s health. When he steps on the floor his philosophy to training and Martial Arts is simple; I rather be a warrior in the garden, then a gardener in a war.
