Paulding Chamber Making Face Shields For Hospital: Coronavirus
Using 3D printers loaned by schools and businesses, the Paulding Chamber of Commerce is cranking out face masks from its offices.

DALLAS, GA — Thanks to a community partnership driven by the coronavirus, the Paulding Chamber of Commerce is now using its meeting space to make face shields for healthcare workers. The first delivery of 115 masks was made to WellStar Paulding Hospital on Monday.
Using 3D printers borrowed from the Paulding County School District along with supplies and printers from chamber members, Robert Crouse of Crouse Consulting set up an assembly line in a day. The line— now manned by staff and volunteers working at a safe distance from each other — is currently ramping up to produce 250 masks daily.
Chamber president Stacy Hamby said she learned of WellStar’s need for masks after talking late last week with hospital executives. That led to discussions with the WellStar Foundation and local experts — and the discovery that masks could be made with 3D printers, many of which were sitting idle during the economic shutdown.

WellStar Paulding needs 2,500 masks. Hamby said she’s optimistic the chamber can make that many in the next few weeks.

“It truly is a coordinated effort between the chamber, members, committee members, business partners, sponsors, volunteers in the community and WellStar,” Hamby said.
