Paulding County Escapes Major Hurricane Irma Damage
Almost all of the county's residents had power restored by mid-Tuesday morning, according to Greystone Power.
DALLAS, GA — Paulding County authorities were thanking local residents for their cooperation after the county escaped largely without major damage from Hurricane Irma, which blew through the state as a tropical storm on Monday.
Compared to much of Georgia, Paulding County fared well Monday, Sheriff Gary Gulledge said Tuesday morning in a Facebook post.
"The public safety entities in Paulding County want to thank all of our citizens who heeded our warnings to stay home and off of the roadways," the post read. "By staying home, you allowed us to do our jobs more efficiently and help those citizens who actually needed help.
