With Paulding County Schools set to start the school year Thursday, August 1, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is offering a free child fingerprinting event to residents.

This is your chance to have pertinent information about your child recorded in the event a child gets lost or goes missing, PCSO said in a news release. The event will be held in the lobby of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office at 247 Industrial Way N on Thursday, July 25.

This event is free to the public and will give parents a copy of their child’s photograph, personal information, and a digital fingerprint which will all be stored on a small credit card sized plastic card.

None of the children’s personal information or fingerprints will be retained by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. This event is solely for parents to obtain that important information about their child so they can keep it in their wallet.

“Our children are the most important and precious things in our lives. This free service is a small way that we can give back to the community to help give parents that piece of mind in the event their child gets lost or goes missing," Sheriff Gary Gulledge said in the release.
