Paulding Schools Offer Meals To Kids Amid Closures
With the new coronavirus causing school closures nationwide, the Paulding County School District is ensuring kids have meals to eat.
PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County School District is offering meals to students amid the closure of schools over concerns of the spreading new coronavirus.
Starting Wednesday, school nutrition staff will offer "Lunch to Go" bags from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot or bus lanes of three area schools:
- Herschel Jones Middle School (100 Stadium Dr., Dallas)
- Paulding County High School (1297 Villa Rica Hwy., Dallas)
- Hiram High School (702 Ballentine Dr., Hiram)
The free meals are for students under 18 or, for youth with special needs, under 21. Children must be present for meals to be provided.

Food consumption is not allowed on site "for efficiency and health reasons," school officials said in a release. Those who use the program will be handed their lunches and must exit the school campus.
Families cannot stay on site in an effort to practice social distancing.
