Paulding Teen Charged With Murder In Hiram Shooting

After victim dies, a 15-year-old has been charged as an adult in the shooting on Saturday, Feb. 2, in Hiram, says Paulding Sheriff's Office.

HIRAM, GA — A teen from Paulding County is facing murder charges stemming from the death of an 18-year-old following a shooting on Saturday, Feb. 2, in Hiram. On Friday, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office identified the accused shooter as Seth William Wyatt, 15.

Wyatt is being charged as an adult in the shooting death of Kaileb Chance Ellison, 18, of Douglas County. Ellison died of his wounds Thursday at an Atlanta-area hospital, the sheriff's office announced..

Shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, deputies and detectives responded to the scene of the shooting at a home in the 90 block of Calm Waters Avenue in Hiram. They found Ellison, who had been shot in the head and was in grave condition, the sheriff's office said.

As paramedics treated Ellison, the deputies and detectives tracked down and arrested Wyatt at the Harris Bridge Overlook Apartments in Dallas. They also recovered the gun from the incident, the sheriff's office said.

Wyatt is being held without bond in a youth detention center in the Atlanta area, the sheriff's office said. He faces the following charges: malice murder, murder, aggravated assault, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a pistol by a minor, altering a serial number on a firearm and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Act (two counts).
