Recycle Your Christmas Tree At Hiram Home Depot
Paulding County residents can recycle their Christmas trees this weekend at "Bring One for the Chipper" at the Home Depot in Hiram.

HIRAM, GA — The holidays are over and it's time to take the lights and ornaments off your Christmas tree and dispose of it. If you live in Paulding County, you can recycle your tree at the "Bring One for the Chipper" event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Home Depot store at 145 Depot Road in Hiram.
Each year, the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation works with private sponsors like Home Depot to organize Bring One for the Chipper events around the state.
Since its inception, the Chipper program has recycled an estimated 6 million Christmas trees, according to the foundation. The program transforms trees into mulch for playgrounds, city and county landscaping projects, and individual homes. Many communities also choose to sink the trees into lakes to create fish habitats.
