Severe Storms Possible In Atlanta Area Thursday
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of north Georgia for Thursday.
ATLANTA, GA — The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of north Georgia Thursday, warning of severe thunderstorms expected in the Atlanta area.
Isolated severe storms will be possible after 10 a.m., mainly in the area east of Interstate 85 and south of Interstate 20, according to the weather service.
A cold front will be carrying a line of thunderstorms through the area. The primary severe threats will be damaging wind gusts, small hail and perhaps a few tornado-like spin-ups, said the NWS.

Thursday's forecast for Atlanta calls for showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Winds could gust up to 25 m.p.h. and the chance of rain is 70 percent.
Isolated thunderstorms will be possible again Friday, becoming more scattered through the weekend as a moist air mass moves in. A cold front will approach the area Sunday night into Monday, when severe weather will be a a concern as another line of organized thunderstorms accompanies the front.
