Black ice possible overnight Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The next winter storm event will likely leave some snow on the ground north of the Atlanta metro, but we likely only see flurries.

When? Rain will mix with snow late Monday and change over to snow showers through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

How much? No accumulation is expected for most of the Atlanta metro. There is the potential for black ice overnight Monday and Tuesday.

“Stay weather aware,” the Weather Service notes. “The forecast may change.”

  • Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Monday Night: Scattered rain showers before 10pm, then scattered rain and snow showers between 10pm and midnight, then scattered snow showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
  • Tuesday: Isolated snow showers before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
