Snow Latest: Black Ice Still a Concern Tuesday Night
A dusting to half-inch of snow is possible through Tuesday, with the added concern of black ice, according to the National Weather Service.
There’s potential for snow showers and snow flurries across northwest and west-central Georgia on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Accumulations of half-inch to 1 inch will be possible across Dade, Walker, Chattooga and Floyd counties.
A dusting to half-inch is possible to the south and east of these areas, including the Atlanta metro area.

The best chance to see snow showers and accumulations will be between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Heavier snow accumulations are expected across the mountains of north Georgia, where a winter weather advisory is in effect.

Short bursts of heavier snow could accompany the showers by Tuesday afternoon, which could quickly cover the ground and cause slick roads, especially bridges and overpasses.
By Tuesday night, areas of black ice could form where residual moisture freezes as temperatures fall well below freezing.
